for those of you who haven't been keeping up, this game works similar to elite beat agents. circles will appear on one or more of the sixteen squares. as the circles get smaller you must hit each corresponding square with the beat of the song.

Anime Central 2008 weekend schedule

Acen is less than a week away now, and just so everyone is prepared we're gonna let you know the schedule for our events over the weekend now, as well as a few requests from ourselves and our guests.

Friday [12:00pm-6:00pm] mydjsobad.com booth opens
This is when we officially open up shop for the weekend. We'll be giving away the NO+CHIN PROMO MIX 2008 CD starting at this time as well as selling all of the new and exclusive ACen merchandise we have lined up. We'll be located IN the car show area in the exhibition hall, adjacent to the dealer's hall, but not actually in it. We'll have DistorteD CS and DDR SuperNOVA 2 CS set up to play for those of you who want to come and just hang out.

Friday [9:00pm-??] HARDCORE SYNERGY
Explanation for the event at this point should be entirely unnecessary. Doors open at 9;00pm but if last year's turnout for the Soap Bubble is any indication, lines will likely be long. Plan to be there early if you want to get in for sure. This is located in the Hotel Sofitel which is across N. River Road from the Donald E. Stephen's Convention center.

Saturday [2:30-4:30pm] Artists signing/Meet & Greet
Located at the mydjsobad booth. This is happening because the artists have requested that we let everyone know that they DO NOT want to be bothered for autographs and pictures all weekend. We've set this time aside for everyone to meet at the booth and get a chance to meet them all and get stuff autographed. We will let it run a bit longer if the turnout requires it. I just want to reiterate:

PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER THE GUESTS FOR AUTOGRAPHS BEFORE THIS TIME
They'll be hanging out all over the convention center before this time, but please respect their wishes. You're more than welcome to go up and say hi and whatnot, but they really just want to have a good time and take the convention itself in as much as everyone else there does.

Saturday [8:00pm-9:30pm] Bemani panel
I don't really want to call this the bemanistyle panel as we've decided that it's really gonna act more as an excuse for as many people in the community as possible to get together in one room and just dick around on the convention's time. We don't have anything planned in particular so feel free to show up and leave as you please. We're still unsure of the location, but it will be announced and promoted prior to it happening.

That's basically all we have going on specifically. If I can get a schedule from the game room for the tournaments, I'll update this post and add them for everyone who's interested. We can't wait to see everyone there!

Time for you to make amends, then, by opening up your Steam account and dropping nine bucks (until the fifteenth of May, at which point it goes up to ten!) for some exposure to one of the more creative takes on the concept. Get out there and get shooting.

And in case you missed it the first time, here's a link to redshoepaul's interview with Jonathan where he discusses the development process, code quirks, and the games from which he drew inspiration. The release is very vague about the game play but trailers and screens show the 800 in-game break moves are accurately depicted via motion capturing using well-known break dancers Crazy Legs and The Rocksteady Crew. Currently, SouthPeak has announced 35 hip-hop and funk tracks, specifically naming "Bringing It Back" by The Black Eyed Peas, "Get on the Good Foot" by James Brown, "The Phuncky Feel One" by Cypress Hill and "Don't Sweat the Technique" by Eric B and Rakim.

The game flow follows the familiar start as a nobody, build up your crew and wreck competitions in 22 venues across the world with a number of ways to customize characters with name brands such as Adidas. SouthPeak is still temporarily using the European www.bboythegame.com Web page to promote the title.

Currently, the title is planned for a June release.

I presume this is Harmonix's answer to download content or lack thereof on the Wii and PS2.

In order for the games to catch up with the DLC offered on 360 and PS3, these discs will have a set of songs on a disc (strongly presuming here).

This disc will have the following:

30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill
All American Rejects - Move Along
Blink ??? 182 - All the Small Things
Boston - More Than a Feeling
David Bowie - Moonage Daydream
Faith No More - We Care A Lot
Grateful Dead - Truckin???
The Hives - Die, All Right!
KISS - Calling Dr. Love
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme??? Three Steps
Nine Inch Nails - March of the Pigs
Oasis - Live Forever
Paramore - Crushcrushcrush
The Police - Synchronicity II
Queens of the Stone Age - Little Sister
Ramones - Teenage Lobotomy
Smashing Pumpkins - Siva
Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song
Weezer - Buddy Holly
Wolfmother - Joker & the Thief

20 tracks for...$29.99. 25% off if you bought these songs individually. I suppose this is an okay solution but of course, not everyone is going to like that song selection.

Who knows, there might be some hidden stuff there too. PS2 owners should be immensely grateful though.

The pack is released on July 15th. As a reminder, Rock Band Wii is out June 22nd.

APPEND
Making the rounds in the news today is Nine Inch Nails' new album is available today FOR FREE. You can choose from a variety of formats and a PDF with artwork and credits:

Ry19 of Arcadefuture.com and Brunswick hit me up again today with news regarding DDR SuperNOVA 2 AC. Now that the first Zukin Wars event is over, the 2nd one has been announced. Starting on May 22nd and running through June 5th, this should be the same as the 2nd Episode in Japan.

Seeing that e-Amusement is still only available in Naperville, IL I'm sure participation will be roughly the same as the first episode, but at least this time we have a bit of a heads up.

Also, please don't reply to this headline if you have nothing constructive to say about the topic. All of the "needs more e-amuse" and other negative statements have been heard more than enough, they don't need to be repeated every time we post something new on the subject.

Hey sexies, I was over at Gamefly and spotted a couple of new listings for DDR titles! Gamefly is usually right on the ball when it comes to leaking new games, so I figured this would be worth posting here!

Dance Dance Revolution X (PS2) August 28, 2008
Dance Dance Revolution HOTTEST PARTY 2 (Wii) September 30, 2008

There are no listings for a PS3 or XBOX360 game... and somehow the world managed to move on. :azn:

So GameFly has dropped the bomb on the two new titles, and what we can expect to be the next arcade installment of DDR for us.

Though... personally hope the X is NOT to signify the number ten... since DDRSuperNOVA 2 would be considered the 10th Mix...

We only have about 3 weeks until the event itself and the announcements just keep on coming. Today we're extremely excited to announced that GUHROOVY (Akira Uchibori) will be playing a special Live PA set alongside labelmates DJ CHUCKY and NO+CHIN at HARDCORE SYNERGY 2008. Those of you that attended ACen last year know that he came along and hung out for the weekend, this year he's coming back for sure and getting on stage for what is no doubt going to be a very special performance.

As he doesn't play live very often, missing his set if you're in attendance definitely isn't an option.
On a humorous note, SWORD managed to defeat 573 dark dancers at the end of the event~

Just days after our earlier post, Konami has revealed full tracklists including names and track order for both sides of the upcoming L.E.D. album. Immediately noticeable is that many songs have changed their names (ACID IMMORTAL is presumably still ACID VISION, and THE SHARP STRIKER appears to be SOUND OF GIALLARHORN), as well as new songs completely (OVERBLAST!! remix on Disc 2).

Denjin K is available for pre-order from Play-Asia as part of the beatmaniaIIDX 14 GOLD Konamistyle Special Edition Complete set, or by itself.
